Holy Trinity

Year C

Love was revealed until it was poured into our hearts. Now it’s up to us to give ourselves entirely.

After the celebration of the Easter season which takes place on the solemnity of Pentecost, on this Sunday the Church opens and draws our gaze to the abyss of the very life of God. The Most High finds his delights by communicating his Trinitarian love to our called humanity. to live by the same dynamism of gift and infinite charity. It is as if at the end of the long Lenten-Easter journey, after being mystically reborn in baptism with the renewal of promises during the Vigil, we were invited to a stop of contemplation and deep rest to be at peace with God through our Lord Jesus. Christ. Ours is the time of penetrating the depths of the mystery in which the Spirit of truth is our teacher and guides us, gently leading us to the truth of love whose weight we are unable to bear for the moment. We can carry this sweet weight only if we allow ourselves to be inhabited by the very life of God who is essentially and dynamically Love. Putting together the suggestion that comes to us from the first reading and the words of the Lord Jesus, we could imagine the Trinitarian life as a continuous game on the wireless telephone. At the heart of God’s life there is a continuous passion for communion that takes care of the relationship through what we could define as continuous communication. A message seems to flow continuously within divine life, a message which, flowing from the Father into the Son by the work of the Spirit, reaches each creature as a solemn invitation to enter the same dynamic and the same style of communion: Hope does not disappoint!
